1. Who is responsible
KNK Animations Ltd. is the controller of personal data processed through the Service. Address: 16th Ave. Makati, Makati City, Philippines. Privacy contact: [email protected].
2. Data we collect
- Account data: your email address, the time you accepted our terms, and your notification preference.
- Content you provide: video files you upload or link to, YouTube URLs, project settings, and edits to clips and captions.
- Derived content: audio extracted from your video, transcripts, AI-generated summaries and clip suggestions, rendered MP4 files and SRT subtitle files.
- YouTube metadata: title, thumbnail, channel name and duration of videos you reference, retrieved from public YouTube endpoints. We do not download videos from YouTube.
- Technical data: IP address, browser type and request logs generated by our servers and hosting providers for security and reliability.
- Authentication data: a hashed single-use sign-in token and a session cookie.
3. How we use data and legal bases
- To provide the Service (transcribe, analyze, render, store and let you download your clips) – performance of a contract.
- To sign you in and keep your account secure, prevent abuse and enforce our policies – legitimate interests.
- To email you sign-in links (necessary) and processing notifications (you can switch these off in Settings) – contract / legitimate interests.
- To comply with legal obligations such as responding to lawful requests and copyright notices.
We do not sell personal data, do not show advertising, and do not use your videos or transcripts to train our own models.
4. AI processing
To transcribe and analyze your media, extracted audio and transcript text are sent to our AI provider (OpenAI) through its API. We use API access, which under the providers' published API terms is not used to train their models by default; please review the provider's current terms on the Subprocessors page. AI output may be inaccurate and should be reviewed before publishing.
5. Sharing
We share data only with service providers that process it on our behalf (see the Subprocessors page), when required by law, or to protect rights and safety. If we are involved in a merger or acquisition, data may be transferred subject to this policy.
6. Retention
- Projects (including uploaded video, transcripts, clips and rendered files) are automatically deleted after 30 days.
- You can delete any project, or your entire account, at any time; deletion removes database records and stored files immediately.
- Temporary processing files are removed when a job finishes (and by a periodic sweep).
- Sign-in tokens expire after 15 minutes and are purged within a day. Server logs are kept for a limited period for security and debugging.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR/UK GDPR or CCPA/CPRA) you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing of your data, to data portability, and to withdraw consent. You can delete your data yourself in the app, or contact us at [email protected]. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
8. International transfers
Our providers may process data in countries other than your own. Where required, transfers rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.
9. Security
We use TLS in transit, signed httpOnly session cookies, per-user access checks on every project and download, private (non-public) file storage, SSRF protections for remote URLs, and limits on upload size. No system is perfectly secure; please use the Service accordingly.
10. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their data. Contact us if you believe a child has provided personal data.
11. Cookies
We use a single essential session cookie and no advertising or analytics cookies. See the Cookies & Cache Policy.
12. Changes
We may update this policy. Material changes will be announced in the Service or by email, and the "Last updated" date will change.
